Web Site for Landscaping Business

Description
From my friend Darryl: Hey all. I need to build a website for my business. Pretty simple one that I can add payment capability to later. I need to do it myself and cheap. Suggestions? Funny ass question considering I have a degree in IT!

P.j. I don't think that Wix templates are as good looking at Squarebuilder, and I don't think their templates are design to work well on mobile, but they do have a landscaping specific template.

P.j. Of the free, modern web site builders, I think squarespace has the most attractive templates. They emphasize portfolios and that design should work well for a landscaping business (assuming you have some photos you can use).

P.j. Here is a pretty good review of modern web site builders: http://www.websitebuilderexpert..... One thing that may not be obvious in that review is that "responsive" means the site is designed to work on mobile devices.

P.j. If you want something that can work long term, I'd take a look at something based on WordPress. You can host on wordpress.com, or search for one of the many services that can host WordPress based web sites. I like WordPress for long term because:
- Mature, full-featured engine for adding content (pages, photos, etc.)
- Many add-ons
- The WordPress source code is open source, so, unlike Squarespace, Wix, etc., you are not locked into hosting on wordpress.com
- Many web site designers know how to work with WordPress based web sites

P.j. I've used many payment services over the years. PayPal can be a bit more expensive than some other services, but it is easy to get setup, reliable, fairly easy to use and everybody knows it. For a landscaping business, PayPal supports invoicing and reoccurring payments.

P.j. This stuff an ancient! It might work if you want a web site that looks like it is from the 90s (retro?).
